Description:
Teignmouth is a pleasant sea side town in East Devon with a long sandy beach. Facilities are close to Teignmouth Beach, including a promenade pier.
Safety:
Signs warn of shelving beach, beware of boats and do not use inflatables in offshore winds. Do not swim in the estuary. Lifeguards in summer. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
Various access points along the Teignmouth sea front, including ramps suitable for wheelchairs.
Dogs:
At Teignmouth dogs are banned from 1st April to 30th September from the lighthouse on the point to the slipway at Eastcliff.
Directions:
Teignmouth is 16 miles from Exeter. From Exeter take the A38 west and then turn onto the A380 (signposted to Teignmouth). Continue on the A380 south and then turn left onto the B3192 (signposted to Teignmouth) and continue on the B3192 to Teignmouth. Follow the B3192 into Teignmouth and at a junction turn left onto the A379 (signposted to Dawlish). At the roundabout turn right (signposted to sea front) and continue on this road to Den Crescent. Here turn right for the main sea front car park.
