Hallsands Beach

Location:
South Devon.
Description:
At Hall Sands there is a pleasant pebble beach facing east into Start Bay. There are no toilets or facilities. The beach stretches for some distance north, but there is a risk of getting cut off by high tide. To the south there is good walking around Start Point.

Access:
Level access to the beach from the North Hall Sands car park. There is a 5 minute walk to the beach from the South Hall Sands car park, which involves some steps.

Dogs allowed all year.
Directions:
Hall Sands is about 9 miles from Kingsbridge. From Kingsbridge drive east on the A379 until approaching Stokenham. Alternatively from the Totnes direction, take the A381 and at the Totnes Cross junction turn left onto the A3122 Dartmouth road. Continue on the A3122 for 4-5 miles, then turn right signposted to Strete and Slapton. Follow this road to Strete and at Strete turn right onto the A379 (signposted to Slapton Sands and Torcross) and follow the A379 along Slapton Sands, then after Torcross follow the A379 inland through Stokenham. Just east of Stokenham on the A379 is a mini roundabout. Turn south signposted to Beesands and after 3-4 miles on this road, turn left (signposted to Start Point, Hall Sands and Kellaton). Follow this road and there are two turnings left to Hall Sands, the first for North Hall Sands (signposted to North Hall Sands) and the second for South Hall Sands (signposted).
