Holcombe Beach

East Devon.
Description:
Holcombe is a nice sandy beach below the cliffs at the village of Holcombe on the East Devon coast. At low tide the sandy beach stretches all the way to Teignmouth Beach. Holcombe Beach is usually quiet as there is limited parking and no facilities.

There are steep steps at various points along the sea wall. There is also a slipway at Sprey Point.

Dogs allowed all year.
Directions:
Holcombe is about 16 miles from Exeter and a few miles north of Teignmouth. From Exeter take the A38 west and then turn onto the A380 (signposted to Teignmouth). Continue on the A380 south and then turn left onto the B3192 (signposted to Teignmouth) and continue on the B3192 to Teignmouth. Follow the B3192 into Teignmouth and at a junction turn left onto the A379 (signposted to Dawlish). Continue over the first roundabout and at the next roundabout turn left (again signposted to Dawlish) to continue on the A379 and take the A379 out of Teignmouth. At the village of Holcombe turn right onto Smugglers Lane and follow the road to the beach. There is very limited road parking at the bottom of the lane. Alternatively, park in Teignmouth and walk along the sea wall to Holcombe, taking about 30 minutes to walk.
