Broadsands Beach

Location:
English Riviera.
Description:
Broadsands is a large curved sandy beach on the outskirts of Paignton. There are rock pools at the southern part of Broadsands Beach. Facilities and parking are close to the beach.
Safety:
Signs warn of large waves in extreme weather, also do not use inflatables when the wind is blowing out to sea. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
Level access from the car park to the beach promenade. On the promenade there are steps at various points to the beach and a short slipway at the northern end of the beach.
Dogs:
Dogs banned 1st May to 30th September at Broadsands.
Directions:
Broadsands is about 26 miles from Exeter and 31 miles from Plymouth. From Exeter take the A38 and A380 to Paignton and at Paignton continue on the A380 to Tweenaways Cross. Alternatively from Plymouth take the A38 and A385 to Totnes and continue on the A385 to Paignton. At Paignton at Tweenaways Cross turn onto the A3022. Continue on the A3022 until the Windy Corner junction and turn left onto the A379 (signposted to Paignton). Just after the shops turn right (signposted to Broadsands Beach car parks) and follow this road to the Broadsands Beach car park.
