Saltern Cove Beach

Description:
Saltern Cove is an east facing sandy cove on the English Riviera in South Devon. There are rocks at low tide. The beach is quiet as there is no parking and no facilities. The cove can be accessed from the coast path south of Goodrington Sands.

Access:
The closest car park is at Goodrington Sands and it takes about 15-20 minutes walking on the coast path. Alternatively park at Broadsands and walk north to Saltern Cove. Final access to the beach is via a flight of steps

Dogs allowed all year.
Directions:
Paignton is 29 miles from Plymouth and 24 miles from Exeter. From Exeter take the A38 and A380 to Paignton and at Paignton continue on the A380 to Tweenaways Cross. Alternatively from Plymouth take the A38 and A385 to Totnes and continue on the A385 to Paignton to Tweenaways Cross. At Tweenaways Cross continue on the A3022 and at the Long Road crossroads turn left onto Goodrington Road. Continue on this road for about 1 mile and then at a junction turn left onto the A379. Continue on the A379 for about 1 mile and then turn right onto Tanners Road for the Goodrington Sands car parks. Then take the coast path south.

No parking. At Goodrington Sands, Youngs Park car park (130 spaces) and Quay West (970 spaces). There is also a small car park on Cliff Road at the south part of Goodrington Sands (41 spaces).
